Ren Røros Aksess sold to NEAS
Alpha advises Ren Røros in its sale of Ren Røros Aksess to NEAS
2024

On 3 July 2024, Ren Røros AS and NEAS Konsern AS announced that they have entered into an agreement for the sale and purchase of 100% of the shares in Ren Røros Aksess AS, the largest broadband provider in the Greater Røros Region (NW: Fjellregionen)

Alpha Corporate Finance has acted as financial advisor to Ren Røros in the transaction.

The acquisition is further evidence that M&A is gaining momentum in Norwegian broadband. Infrastructure ownership remains fragmented and we anticipate significant transaction volumes going forward.

Since 2001, Ren Røros Aksess has developed and operated broadband infrastructure for local residents and businesses. The company has grown step by step in the Greater Røros Region, coupled with acquisitions of infrastructure in North-Western and Northern Norway. Following the de-merger of the IT services and consultancy business area in 2024, Ren Røros Aksess is now a pure-play broadband company with customers in Fjellregionen as well as Brønnøysund and Sandnessjøen. The company has more than 3 100 fibre, ~1 000 HFC and ~1 000 radio subscribers, with some 2 000 subscribers to Telia content.

Ren Røros AS is owned 67% by Røros municipality and has operations within hydropower generation and sales, power grid, installation services, and IT services and consultancy.

NEAS is one of the largest energy and broadband companies in Central Norway. The group is owned 33.33% by KLP, with the remaining shares owned by Kristiansund, Averøy, Aure, Tingvoll and Smøla municipalities
