Geodata further strengthens its oil and gas business by acquiring Geocap

The acquisition will give Geodata access to software and specialist expertise in advanced mapping and modelling solutions in 3D to the maritime and oil and gas sectors, including oil exploration and production. Geocap´s solutions are used by leading Norwegian oil and oil service companies such as Statoil, Aker Geo, PGS, TGS and Det norske. The acquisition will strengthen Geodata´s geographic information systems (GIS) business in the maritime and oil and gas sectors.

Geocap provides mapping and modeling solutions to geoscientists in their work with geographical and geological data. The company has over 25 years of experience in the geoscientific industry, and the software is used in more than 50 countries world wide. Geocap delivers high-quality graphics in both 2D and 3D, as well as in 3D-stereo. The flexibility and the wide range of functionality makes Geocap a powerful tool.

Geodata is a Norwegian IT company that provides expertise and technology integrated in one solution based on the market leading technology from ESRI.
